Uzbekistan Car Production Rises in January-May 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Passenger car production in Uzbekistan reached 190,480 units in January-May 2026, an increase compared to the 171,211 units produced during the same period last year, the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Statistics reported.
The output of trucks rose to 2,413 units, compared to 1,873 units a year earlier. The manufacturing of specialized vehicles increased to 23,791 units from 17,397 units.
Among specific passenger car models, the largest production volume was recorded for the Cobalt, standing at 69,302 units compared to 58,904 units a year earlier. Significant growth was registered for the BYD model, with its output nearly doubling to 10,120 units against 5,495 units in January-May 2025. Haval production increased to 4,038 units from 2,930 units, while KIA manufacturing rose to 11,128 units from 10,076 units.
At the same time, the output of certain models declined. Damas production fell to 35,269 units compared to 38,753 units a year earlier, Onix production dropped to 15,157 units from 16,215 units, and Chery output went down to 3,156 units from 3,362 units. Production of the Tracker model increased slightly to 18,519 units against 18,079 units last year.
