No Uzbek Citizens Among Bangkok Crash Victims: Foreign Ministry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry said no Uzbek citizens were identified among those affected by a collision between a freight train and a passenger bus in Bangkok on 16 May.
According to Thai emergency services and medical institutions, eight people were killed and 33 injured in the accident in the Thai capital.
As of May 17, 15 injured individuals had been discharged from hospitals, while 18 remained under medical treatment. Preliminary information indicates that two of those killed were Thai nationals.
Citing information from the forensic department of Bangkok’s Police General Hospital, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry stated that no citizens of Uzbekistan were among the victims.
The ministry added that Uzbekistan’s diplomatic and consular missions in Thailand continue to monitor the situation and remain in contact with local authorities.
The Foreign Ministry also said the incident remains under constant supervision by Uzbekistan’s consular services.
