Uzbek Delegation Explores Mersin Logistics and Trade Potential
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkey held a series of meetings, took part in a business forum, and inspected manufacturing and logistics facilities during a visit to Mersin Province, Dunyo Information Agency reported.
More than 40 entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Turkey representing agriculture, logistics, greenhouse farming, and other sectors attended the business forum organized with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mustafa Özdamar.
Participants discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, developing export infrastructure, and promoting Uzbek products to foreign markets. Particular attention was paid to Mersin's potential as a logistics hub for supplying goods from Uzbekistan to Turkey, Europe, and the Middle East.
During the visit, the Uzbek delegation also toured the Mersin Free Zone (MESBAŞ), where over 330 companies operate with a combined trade turnover of approximately $3.5 billion. Representatives of the Uzbek juice manufacturer Dena expressed interest in using the free zone's warehousing infrastructure to expand export operations.
Following the visit, the parties agreed to continue practical interaction in trade, investment, logistics, and the promotion of Uzbek brands in international markets.
