New Batch of Buses Arrives in Karshi Public Transport Fleet

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A batch of 38 modern buses purchased by private entrepreneurs has arrived in Karshi under Presidential Decree No. PP-59 on public transport system reform and the city's transport infrastructure master plan.

Governor of Kashkadarya Region Murot Azimov, community representatives, responsible officials, entrepreneurs, and drivers attended the handover ceremony.

Speaking at the event, the regional governor noted that the public transport upgrade was initiated by the President to improve passenger transport quality and create more comfortable conditions for residents. Following the ceremony, keys to the new buses were handed over to drivers, and event participants inspected their technical features.

According to regional authorities, the new buses will serve two routes specified in the Karshi transport system master plan.

With the deployment of the new vehicles, the number of bus routes operated under the gross cost contract system will increase to 14, bringing the total fleet operating on these routes to 164 units.
