Malaysian Singer Releases Album Filmed in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Malaysian singer, composer and producer Hafiz Hamidun has released a new music album, “Salawat. The Beloved,” with video materials filmed in Uzbekistan, the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan said. The project has already reached more than 1.4 million viewers and introduced audiences in Southeast Asia to Uzbekistan’s historical, cultural and tourism potential.

The filming took place in August in Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara. Hafiz Hamidun and his creative team produced several music videos at landmark locations showcasing Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural heritage.

Hafiz Hamidun is a widely known performer among Muslim audiences in Malaysia and other countries in the region.

In recent years, interest among Malaysian and other Southeast Asian artists in developing creative projects in Uzbekistan and promoting the country’s historical and cultural heritage to international audiences has been growing.

The album presentation in Malaysia received extensive media coverage. Representatives of more than 40 media outlets attended the event, while 24 electronic and print publications published reports about the presentation. Around 100 posts and other materials were also shared on social media.

A photo exhibition dedicated to Uzbekistan’s Islamic, historical and cultural heritage was also held as part of the presentation.

According to Hafiz Hamidun, the new album reached more than 1.4 million viewers within a short period. The project is seen as an example of using modern media and creative formats to promote Uzbekistan’s cultural and tourism potential among audiences in Southeast Asia.

The media project was implemented in cooperation with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia and the Tourism Committee. One of its objectives was to introduce the region’s public to reforms in religious education and modern opportunities for developing pilgrimage tourism.

The initiative is also aimed at strengthening Uzbekistan’s cooperation with Malaysia and ASEAN countries in cultural and tourism diplomacy.
