Lithuania to introduce QR codes to speed up issuance of work visas for Uzbek citizens

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Lithuania is experiencing high demand for labor but needs to streamline its migration processes.

This issue was raised during negotiations between Lithuania's Deputy Minister of the Interior, Alicia Šerbaitė, and the Director of the Migration Department, Evelina Gudžinskaitė.

At the meeting, held in Vilnius, the discussion focused on reducing the current processing time for work visas for Uzbek citizens, which now exceeds three months.

To accelerate the migration process, a new "QR code" service will be introduced for Uzbek citizens wishing to work in Lithuania.

This will significantly reduce the time required for the Lithuanian side to issue work visas.

A relevant document outlining this process is expected to be signed.
