Kyrgyz Energy Minister: UN may advance water-energy cooperation between Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
“The United Nations may obviously become the main contributor to water-energy cooperation between Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan,” 24.kg reported quoting Ilias Davydov, Kyrgyz Minister of Industry, Energy and Fuel Resources.
“I believe the water-energy problem of Central Asia is a myth. But it requires dialogs, cooperation and strong political will. Central Asia is a region profusely blessed with water, gas, mountains, industriousness and hospitality. While Central Asian governments have been trying to solve the water-energy issue since 2003, Kyrgyzstan survived the two low-water years,” Davydov said.
