Khurshid Tojibaev to Fight in Hamburg Queen & King Ring
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — World and Asian lightweight champion Khurshid Tojibaev of Uzbekistan will take part in the second evening of the international boxing tournament Queen & King of the Ring, scheduled to be held in Hamburg on 29–30 May 2026. The event is organized by Exceed Boxing.
Tojibaev is among the most decorated fighters on the upcoming card. The reigning world and Asian lightweight champion remains undefeated in his professional career, adding further significance to his appearance in Hamburg.
Organizers emphasize that his participation reflects the tournament’s core principle of maintaining a high-quality fight lineup across all stages of the event.
The Uzbek boxer is scheduled to fight on the Saturday evening, May 30, as part of the professional section of the card. On the same night, the main event will feature German light-heavyweight knockout specialist Hamza Salahuddin, who holds a perfect 15–0 record and will contest his first professional title. Another local fighter on the card will be Hamburg-born Alexander Chupil, also unbeaten with a 16–0 record.
Queen & King of the Ring is presented as a new format in global boxing. Over two consecutive nights, it combines professional bouts with an Olympic-style tournament featuring elite athletes.
On the opening day, Friday, Olympic semifinals will be held, while Saturday will feature finals and the awarding of Queen and King of the Ring titles in each weight category, along with prize money. Winners earn the right to defend their titles at subsequent events in other countries.
The Friday program on May 29 will be headlined by undefeated Turkish middleweight Serkay Comert in a title bout. Ukrainian heavyweight Igor "Ukrainian Hulk" Shevadzutskyi will also return to the ring following a points loss to two-time Olympic champion Bakhodir Jalolov.
Several leading German athletes will compete in the Olympic section. Multiple-time World Cup winner and European silver medalist Leonie Müller will compete for the women’s welterweight crown. Nikita Putilov, a multiple World Cup and European champion, will represent Germany in the super heavyweight category.
Olympian and World Cup winner Maxi Klotzer will compete in the flyweight division. Magomed Shagidov, ranked 11th in the world, will fight for the men’s welterweight title.
The event will take place at the Active City Arena in the St. Pauli district. Organizers are aiming for a high-energy atmosphere featuring live music, a dynamic light show, and an open arena concept placing spectators close to the ring. The tournament is held with support from Hamburg authorities and relevant boxing federations overseeing both Olympic and professional boxing in Germany.
The Queen & King of the Ring series debuted in June 2025 in Utrecht, Netherlands, to a sold-out crowd and was recognized as one of the most notable boxing events in the country’s history.
The 2026 season includes scheduled stages in Hamburg in May, Utrecht in September, and two additional cities yet to be announced.
