Karakalpakstan Launches US$7 Million Poultry Complex

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A US$7 million poultry complex, Inter Agro broylerlar Nukus, has been commissioned in the Nukus district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The enterprise specializes primarily in egg production, according to UzA.

The new production facility has created 40 permanent jobs. Its products are already being supplied to neighboring regions of Uzbekistan and exported abroad, though specific production volumes and export destinations were not disclosed.

The project was implemented as part of cooperation between the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Samarkand region. The launch of the complex is expected to increase food production, generate additional employment, and strengthen the district's export potential.

The facility's development aligns with national plans to expand the poultry sector. Authorities previously announced goals to increase egg production to 10.5 billion units and boost sector exports to US$180 million.

Similar projects are being implemented in other regions, according to the report. In the Surkhandarya region, plans call for constructing 18 poultry farms worth a total of US$60 million.

During a delegation visit to the Nukus district, a metal profile production project and a new shopping center were also presented. In addition, specialized equipment was delivered to the local medical association.
