Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov took part in the official opening of IT Park Uzbekistan’s representative office in Tokyo, the technopark’s press service reported.

The opening ceremony took place on 13 May and was attended by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Japan, Mukhsin Abdurakhmanov, IT Park’s Director for Digital Services Export Development, Makhliyo Mukhsinova, and Hiroaki Haga, head of the Japanese company Digital Knowledge.

The new office is located in Akihabara, a district renowned as a hub for technology and creative industries.

The representative office is expected to serve as a vital “direct communication point” with Japanese companies and contribute to the development of outsourcing and IT education projects.

As part of the event, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between IT Park and Digital Knowledge. The agreement aims to implement joint projects, attract Japanese businesses to the Uzbek market, and develop educational programs.

The ceremony also featured a panel session with participation from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and companies including Agekke, Toppan Digital, Trusted Corporation, and others. During the discussion, participants explored opportunities to expand cooperation in the IT sector between Uzbekistan and Japan.
