Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — International technology company Listee has begun testing its own resale platform for customer-to-customer (C2C) transactions, selecting Uzbekistan as one of its first launch markets.

The platform combines classifieds, user trust-building tools, artificial intelligence technologies, and a secure transaction service.

To operate in the country, Listee has already opened an office in Tashkent and assembled a local team. Zafar Iskhakov, Country Manager for Uzbekistan, will be responsible for the project's regional development. The company is also developing partnerships with members of the country's logistics and digital ecosystem, including telecom and fintech sectors.

Listee founder and CEO Vitaly Tumanov previously held executive positions at Google, Avito, and Yandex Eats, where he was responsible for developing tech services for millions of users.

The project team includes specialists with experience at Google, Coca-Cola, Wolt, Yandex, Unilever, and other companies. The project is being developed with support from international investors whose investments are aimed at creating the tech platform and exploring opportunities for expansion into new markets.

According to Tumanov, the key issue the platform aims to address remains the low level of trust between individuals in online trading. "We see that the main barrier to the development of peer-to-peer online trading is the lack of trust. Today, to sell an item via a messenger app, the seller and buyer have to trust a complete stranger, and the outcome of the deal is unpredictable — including attempts to buy the item for a fraction of its price. We want to remove this barrier and give people the opportunity to buy and sell from each other safely and conveniently," he said.

Artificial intelligence technologies on the platform help find relevant offers, analyze listing quality, and detect potentially suspicious activity, while also simplifying listing creation for sellers.

A rating and review system allows users to navigate when choosing a transaction counterparty. According to the platform's operating model, communication between buyer and seller takes place via built-in secure chat and calls without disclosing personal phone numbers, while payment and item delivery are handled through platform partners: the seller hands over the item to a logistics partner, and payment is released to them only after the buyer receives and confirms receipt of the item.

At the current stage, the company is studying user needs and testing the product to determine its further regional development strategy.

Going forward, Listee plans to develop secure payment options, integration with logistics services, and additional user protection mechanisms, including buyer and seller reputation profiles. Based on testing results, the company will evaluate demand for the solution, user experience, and prospects for further market development.

In addition to Uzbekistan, the company is focusing on Central Asian markets, as well as the Middle East and Southeast Asia as directions for further scaling.
