Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — On 20 May 2026, IT Park Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Spanish organization ICEX, during which the sides discussed prospects for cooperation in startup ecosystems, international partnerships, and the expansion of technology companies into foreign markets.
The talks continued contacts established during MWC 2026. Participants included representatives of ICEX and the Embassy of Spain, including Trade and Economic Affairs Counselor Cristina Santamaria Garcia. The Uzbek side was represented by IT Park Uzbekistan Deputy General Director for Strategic Development Mahliyo Muksinova.
ICEX presented its “Rising Up in Spain” program, aimed at supporting international startups through business networking and integration into Spain’s startup ecosystem. The Spanish side also shared its experience in implementing the “Russian Startups Go Global” initiative and cooperation with startups from the Skolkovo technology park.
During the meeting, IT Park Uzbekistan invited ICEX to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum TIIF 2026. Representatives of the Spanish organization expressed interest in taking part.
The sides also discussed opportunities for cooperation within ICT Week 2026 and GBSF 2026. In turn, ICEX invited representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan to participate in South Summit 2027, one of Spain’s largest startup events.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue cooperation aimed at strengthening ties between international startup ecosystems, expanding market opportunities for technology companies, and implementing joint initiatives.
