Indian Prime Minister Modi to visit Uzbekistan on 29-30 August

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make a state visit to Uzbekistan on 29-30 August, where he will meet President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and visit a university in Tashkent. Indian Deputy Foreign Minister Sibi George announced the visit.

This will be Modi’s fourth visit to Uzbekistan. During the visit, the two sides will discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade and investment, critical minerals, healthcare and education.

The agenda will also cover cooperation in space and technology, culture and other areas of engagement between India and Uzbekistan.

The two sides are also expected to exchange views on advancing shared approaches to development reflected in the Viksit Bharat 2047 and Uzbekistan–2030 programmes.

The Indian prime minister is also expected to visit the Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial in Tashkent and the Mahatma Gandhi Centre at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.

After completing his visit to Uzbekistan, Modi will travel to Kyrgyzstan. On 31 August-1 September, he will attend the 26th summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
