Uzbekistan Airports cuts tariffs for handling imported livestock

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan Airports has introduced reduced tariffs for handling cattle, sheep and goats imported into Uzbekistan by air. The new rates apply at the country’s international airports when the services are paid for by consignees.

The preferential tariffs cover key operations carried out after an aircraft arrives, including the reception and unloading of animals, their placement and cargo handling at the destination airport.

Uzbekistan Airports’ commercial department said the tariff changes would allow businesses to reduce airport handling costs and lower the overall cost of transporting livestock to Uzbekistan.

“Such a decision will allow businesses to reduce airport handling costs and, overall, lower the cost of delivering livestock to Uzbekistan. This is particularly important for large shipments, where logistics costs directly affect the final cost of imported livestock,” the department said.

Consignees seeking information on current tariffs, their application and service conditions are advised to contact Uzbekistan’s international airports directly.

The reduced tariffs were introduced as part of measures to develop the livestock sector and encourage the import of livestock by air. The measures are provided for under Presidential Resolution No. 179 dated 12 May 2026.

Uzbekistan Airports expects the updated tariff policy to make air transportation of livestock more attractive to businesses and contribute to further development of the cargo segment at the country’s airports.
