Tashkent Alters Traffic Pattern at Key Mustaqillik Intersection
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Traffic Management Center of Tashkent has altered the traffic scheme at the intersection of Mustaqillik Avenue and Oqqurgon Street, according to the agency. Left turns from Mustaqillik Avenue onto Oqqurgon Street have been restricted to minimize congestion and streamline vehicle flows.
Previously, drivers could turn left directly from Mustaqillik Avenue onto Oqqurgon Street. However, increased traffic density, particularly during peak hours, led to frequent vehicle accumulation around the intersection.
Under the new layout, motorists heading toward Oqqurgon Street must continue straight along Mustaqillik Avenue and turn onto Parkent Street. Drivers must then re-enter Mustaqillik Avenue to execute a right turn onto Oqqurgon Street.
Additionally, authorities have established a new two-way road section for traffic exiting Parkent Street onto Mustaqillik Avenue, facilitating access onto Mustaqillik Avenue under the revised pattern.
The Traffic Management Center stated that the update aims to reduce traffic congestion at the intersection, ensure a more balanced flow of vehicles, and enhance overall road safety. Drivers have been urged to account for the changes, follow installed road signs, and adhere to the updated traffic organization.
