Hungary Ratifies Uzbekistan-EU Partnership Deal

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Hungary has completed its domestic procedures for ratifying the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the European Union, the Dunyo news agency reported, citing the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Budapest.

According to the information provided, Hungary became the second country after Estonia to officially ratify the document. The decision confirms the agreement’s progress through European approval procedures and its gradual integration into the legal framework of EU member states.

The Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the European Union was signed on 24 October 2025, in Brussels. The official signing ceremony took place in the presence of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the European Council António Costa and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

The agreement is aimed at strengthening political dialogue and expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union across various areas, including the economy, investment and institutional cooperation. Ratification by individual EU member states represents a key stage toward the agreement’s full entry into force.
