Mirziyoyev Arrives in Belgrade for Official Visit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his wife have arrived in Belgrade for an official visit, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said.

They were met at Nikola Tesla Airport by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and his wife.

Uzbekistan’s presidential aircraft was escorted by Serbian Air Force aircraft while flying through Serbian airspace. State flags of Uzbekistan and Serbia were raised at the airport in honor of the visiting delegation, and an honor guard was lined up for the arrival.

The main events of the official visit will begin on 8 September. According to the program, Mirziyoyev and Vučić are scheduled to hold high-level talks in Belgrade.

A Uzbek-Serbian business forum involving representatives of the official and business communities of both countries will also take place.

During the talks, the sides will discuss further development of Uzbekistan-Serbia cooperation. A package of bilateral documents is expected to be adopted following the visit.

It was previously reported that Mirziyoyev’s visit to Serbia is taking place at the invitation of Vučić. The Uzbek president is in Serbia on 7–8 September.
