Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection of Uzbekistan has granted Hayot Birja JSC a license to operate as a commodity exchange.

The company’s application was reviewed in accordance with established licensing requirements and conditions, resulting in the decision to issue the license.

Under the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Licensing, Permitting, and Notification Procedures," the Competition Committee is the authorized body responsible for regulating commodity exchanges.

It is worth noting that, according to Resolution No. 570 of the Cabinet of Ministers, issued on 12 September 2024, the minimum authorized capital for commodity exchanges was set at no less than 100 billion soums as of 1 November 2024. Furthermore, this threshold is expected to increase to 200 billion soums by 1 July 2025.

In late October 2024, Hayot Birja’s shareholders approved a capital increase. As a result, the company’s authorized capital was raised by 86.35 billion soums, reaching 102.0 billion soums, through additional cash investments via the issuance and placement of new shares.
