GM Uzbekistan to sell for national currency from 1 June

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- GM Uzbekistan will start to sell its automobile in the domestic market for national currency from 1 June 2017.

Sharh.uz internet outlet reported that the President of Uzbekistan signed a corresponding resolution on 26 May 2017.

Uzbek leader approved a proposal of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance and Uzavtosanoat on the sale of GM Uzbekistan cars in the domestic market for the national currency - soums.

The document noted that enterprises of automobile industry should decrease imports of spare parts and increase localization of production via creation new capacities through attracting foreign investments.
