Five persons killed in bus explosion in Bukhara

 

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Five people died as a result of the explosion of a gas cylinder of the Isuzu bus in Bukhara region of Uzbekistan.

The explosion occurred on 18 September at 08:30 am on the highway Bukhoro-Karavulbazar passing through Kogan district.

During the incident, there were 26 passengers on the bus. As a result of the incident, 4 people were killed at the site, one person died in the hospital, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan said in a statement.

Five people were hospitalized in serious condition to Bukhara branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care. The conditions of the seven persons are estimated as moderate, nine people were slightly injured, they were taken to the emergency department of Kagan city medical association.

A surgeon, a neurosurgeon and an intensive care specialists were sent to help the victims to Bukhara region.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan created a state commission to investigate the circumstances and eliminate the consequences of the emergency situation on the ground. Deputy Prime Minister Nodir Otajonov became head of the commission.
