Uzbekistan and Italy Expand Construction Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Uzbekistan Sherzod Hidoyatov held a meeting with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Uzbekistan Guido De Sanctis.
The sides discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in construction, architecture, urban planning, and housing and communal services.
At the beginning of the meeting, the minister congratulated the Italian diplomat on the start of his work in Uzbekistan and wished him a successful diplomatic mission.
During the talks, special attention was paid to sustainable territorial development, the introduction of modern urban planning solutions, the use of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly construction technologies, increasing the seismic resistance of buildings, and modernizing public utilities infrastructure.
Participants in the meeting also discussed opportunities to utilize advanced Italian experience in architecture and engineering adapted to conditions in Uzbekistan.
In addition, prospects were reviewed for expanding direct cooperation between relevant organizations, research institutions, and business representatives of the two countries, holding joint seminars, and implementing practical projects.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to maintain working contacts in priority areas, jointly develop new initiatives, and implement them in the form of practical projects.
