Five family members killed in collision of train with Gentra

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Five members of one family died as a result of a collision between a train and a Gentra car in Shurchi district of Surkhandarya region.

The incident occurred on 31 January at 20:30 at an unguarded railway crossing between the Shurchi and Elbayon stations.

A passenger train traveling from Saraosiyo to Tashkent collided with a Gentra passenger car.

As a result of the accident, two women and three minor children died at the scene.

The 35-year-old driver and his two-year-old child managed to survive. Both received various injuries and are in hospital.
