Ex-Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov dies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The ex-mayor of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov, died on his 84th birthday on Tuesday, 10 December.

According to REN TV, the former mayor died in a clinic in the German city of Munich. In a medical facility, Luzhkov underwent heart surgery.

Yuri Luzhkov served as Moscow’s mayor from 19 92 to 2010.

In September 2016, the former mayor, by decree of President Vladimir Putin, was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree.
