Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A magnitude 6.0 earthquake that occurred on the evening of 27 June 2026 on the territory of Afghanistan was felt across a number of regions in Uzbekistan. The epicenter was located in Badakhshan province at a depth of 224 kilometers.
According to seismologists, the underground tremors were registered at 18:34:58 local time. The distance from the epicenter to Tashkent was 499 kilometers in a southeasterly direction.
The strongest vibrations on the territory of Uzbekistan were recorded in the Surkhandarya region, where the intensity reached 4–5 points on the seismic scale. In the Ferghana, Jizzakh, Samarkand, Sirdaryo, and Kashkadarya regions, the strength of the subterranean shocks reached 4 points.
In the Andijan and Namangan regions, the earthquake was felt with an intensity of 3–4 points, while in the Tashkent region and the city of Tashkent, it registered at 2–3 points. In the Navoiy and Bukhara regions, the intensity amounted to 2 points.
