Denis Istomin beats Benneteau to advance SAP Open final

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan number one Denis Istomin advanced to the final of SAP Open in San Jose, beating fifth-seeded Frenchman Julien Benneteau.

Denis Istomin claimed the first set with the score 6/3 and lost the second in tie-break – 6/7 (4). In the third set, Istomin broke Benneteau to win with the score 6/3.

The match lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes. Denis Istomin served 7 aces and recorded no double faults. Benneteau had 10 aces and 5 double faults in the match.

Denis Istomin now will face Canada’s Milos Raonic, who beat American Ryan Harrison in other semi-final match.
