Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Competition Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan is conducting systematic monitoring of advertisements distributed through information resources and social networks to identify violations of current advertising legislation.
According to the committee, there has been a significant increase in cases of advertising betting services on social media, as well as in groups and channels on the Telegram messenger. Moreover, individuals promoting such services are increasingly using digital technologies to conceal their identities, often operating under fictitious names or anonymously.
Under Article 46 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Advertising," advertising of gambling and other risk-based activities, including those conducted using telecommunications networks and the Internet, is strictly prohibited.
However, in analyzing such cases, it is often impossible to identify the specific individuals responsible for spreading the prohibited content, as well as to determine the owners of Telegram channels and other resources involved in promoting betting services.
As a result, to take appropriate action and identify the individuals responsible for managing these information resources, collected materials are being sent to the Cybersecurity Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
