Chinese Companies Eye Pharmaceutical Projects in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Chinese companies are interested in developing pharmaceutical projects in Uzbekistan, with representatives of Chinese firms discussing prospects for expanding cooperation in the pharmaceutical and medical sectors with Uzbekistan's Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry.
Agency Director Abdullah Azizov met with a delegation of Chinese companies led by Zhang Xun. The sides discussed joint projects, investment opportunities and new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
During the meeting, the participants noted that Uzbekistan is creating conditions to attract foreign investment, develop new pharmaceutical production capacity and localise manufactured products.
Particular attention was given to opportunities to introduce modern technologies and increase the export potential of pharmaceutical production.
Representatives of both sides also exchanged views on expanding cooperation in investment, manufacturing and technology transfer. The areas discussed included product localisation and helping enterprises enter international markets.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to implement promising initiatives on the basis of specific projects.
They also agreed to continue practical cooperation between Uzbek and Chinese companies in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.
