China Opens Imports of Dried Vegetables from Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chinese authorities have approved the import of 10 types of dried vegetables from Uzbekistan, according to the Agency for Plant Quarantine and Protection.
At the beginning of May, representatives of the agency visited China as part of a government delegation. During the visit, negotiations were held with the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, resulting in the issuance of phytosanitary permits for a range of products.
The list of approved dried vegetables includes carrots, beets, tomatoes, radishes, eggplants, zucchini, pumpkins, onions, garlic, and herbs.
To export the products, Uzbek enterprises must be included in the importer list approved by the Chinese side. In addition, exporters are required to obtain phytosanitary certificates and confirm the absence of quarantine pests and harmful organisms.
Previously, in April, Pakistani authorities allowed imports of fresh apples, lemons, figs, and hot peppers from Uzbekistan under specific storage and packaging requirements. Following that decision, the number of agricultural products permitted for export to Pakistan increased to 29.
