Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The head of the Board of Trustees of the Zamin Foundation, together with guests attending the World Summit “Investing in Children’s Well-Being: A Path to Sustainable and Equitable Development for Future Generations,” visited an exhibition centred on children.
The exhibition traced a child’s journey beginning before birth, with care for the expectant mother.
It then followed the child through safe childbirth, first steps, kindergarten, school and the adaptation process, concluding with career choices and entry into the workforce.
Visitors saw how a child’s basic needs are underpinned by the ongoing responsibility of the state and society. These needs, as identified by the organisers, include a sense of security, closeness to family, opportunities to learn and communicate, and the freedom to choose one’s future.
The exhibition also emphasised that laws and reforms in healthcare, social protection and education should create new opportunities for children.
At the end of the visit, guests gathered around a large paper boat and wrote their wishes on it.
The boat symbolised shared hopes setting sail together.
