Champion, vice-champion kick off new domestic season with draws

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- A new football season started in Uzbekistan in the weekend. Uzbekistan champions, Pakhtakor, played a 1-1 draw with Almalyk in the opening match of the season.

Lokomotiv, vice-champions of last season, met with Metallurg. The match ended with the score 0-0.

Bunyodkor recorded a 2-0 victory over Bukhara at home thanks to goals of Zuagi and Gofurov. Nasaf defeated Andijan with the score 3-1. Artur Gevorkyan recorded a brace for Nasaf in the match.

Kyzylkum claimed a 4-1 win over Sogdiana, while debutants Qoqand-1912 stunned Dinamo Samarkand with 1-0 victory.

Navbakhor lost to Mashal with the score 2-0 at home, while Neftchi and Shortan shared spoils after 1-1 draw.
