Blogger Real Sanjik Sentenced to Five Years in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A court in Tashkent has sentenced blogger Sanjar Karimov, known online as “Real Sanjik,” to five years in prison, according to the Mirzo-Ulugbek district criminal court.

The court found Karimov guilty and ordered him to serve his sentence in a general regime colony. In addition, he was fined 410 base calculation units.

Karimov was convicted under Part 1 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code (threat of murder or violence), Part 4 of Article 168 (large-scale fraud), and Part 2 of Article 273 (illegal manufacture, storage or distribution of narcotics).

The 35-year-old auto blogger had previously been involved as a witness in a criminal case related to fraud allegations in Tashkent. His name appeared in materials concerning a disputed residential property transaction.

Earlier, Tashkent resident Jamila Alimbaeva claimed on social media that her family had fallen victim to a fraudulent scheme. Her post on October 21 reportedly gained more than 7.2 million views.

She stated that the groom, Shakhzod Rismatov, persuaded her parents to temporarily transfer their house as collateral for 12 days. After that, the property was allegedly registered as a sale and transferred to Sanjar Karimov, known in social networks as Real Sanjik.

Alimbaeva claimed that no money was received by the family and that the deal was initially presented as a temporary pledge. Karimov, however, said he purchased the house for 240,000 US dollars with the voluntary consent of all parties involved.

According to investigators, a criminal case against Shakhzod Rismatov on several fraud-related charges was sent to court. On 21 November 2025, he was sentenced to nine years in prison.

Lawyers for the victim’s side requested legal assessment of Karimov’s actions, who was mentioned in testimonies. The court granted the motion and instructed the prosecutor’s office to review the circumstances further.
