Banks in Syrdarya region issues over 226,000 banking payment cards

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Commercial banks in Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan issued over 226,000 banking payment cards into circulation as of 1 May 2010.

Number of POS-terminals, installed at trade and service points, reached 1,723. In 2010-2011, it is planned to install 1,500 POS-terminals, 11 ATMs and 31 info-kiosks.

In the reporting period, the cashless payments, made with banking payment cards, grew three times to 50.2 billion soums as of 1 May 2010.
