Association of Women Judges begins operations in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An international roundtable titled "From Dialogue to Results, From Experience to Just Justice" was held at the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan, during which the official launch of the operations of the Association of Women Judges of Uzbekistan was announced.
The Chairperson of the Supreme Court, Robiya Maxmudova, noted that the creation of an independent professional platform bringing together the country's women judges represents an important institutional milestone in the development of the judicial system.
Participants at the forum discussed the integration of gender equality standards into national judicial practice, the enhancement of the professional and leadership capacity of women judges, human rights protections, and measures to strengthen public trust in the judiciary.
With the participation of international experts and foreign partners, an exchange of experience took place on developing a gender-sensitive judicial system, introducing advanced international practices, and expanding equal access to justice for women.
As noted during the event, the Association of Women Judges of Uzbekistan was established on 5 March 2026. Its activities are aimed at promoting the development of the principles of gender equality and an inclusive approach within the country's judicial system.
