About One Kilogram of Hashish Seized in Ferghana Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Law enforcement authorities in Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region have seized approximately one kilogram of the narcotic substance hashish, discovered in a hidden cache on the territory of a residential yard belonging to an elderly woman, regional authorities reported.

The operational measures were conducted in one of the local mahallas with the participation of internal affairs officers and other specialized services. During the inspection of the property, investigators found that the narcotic substance had been buried in the ground within the courtyard area.

According to preliminary findings, the seized substance was likely not intended for personal use but for further illegal distribution for profit. The confiscated drugs have been added to the case file as material evidence.

Authorities are currently continuing investigative actions to clarify the circumstances of the incident and identify possible connections of the suspect.

Law enforcement agencies also reminded that any activities related to the illegal circulation of narcotic substances, including possession and distribution, carry criminal liability under the law.
