A prevention inspector was detained while accepting a bribe in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Employees of the State Security Service (SSS) of Uzbekistan detained a prevention inspector while accepting a bribe in Tashkent.

The inspector worked in the Department of Internal Affairs No. 2 of the Sergeli district.

According to the State Security Service, the inspector demanded US$5,000 to reclassify the criminal case as an administrative offense. The case involved a man accused of causing bodily harm to a foreigner.

The inspector was detained while receiving the money. A criminal case has been opened.
