A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident in Almalyk

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- The Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan opened a criminal case in connection with an emergency incident at the AGMK construction site.

On 20 February, as a result of prolonged and heavy snowfall and strong winds, the roof of a temporary facility collapsed in the metal preparation shop of Enter Engineering. The incident occurred at the construction site of a copper processing plant at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant (MOF-3 AGMK) in Tashkent region.

Three Indian citizens died as a result of the emergency. Another 29 people were hospitalized with various injuries.

The investigative team is investigating the scene.

A criminal case has been initiated on this fact under Article 257 (Violation of labor protection rules) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.
