Earthquake in Kyrgyzstan Felt in Uzbekistan’s Fergana Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A magnitude 3.0 earthquake occurred on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, with the resulting tremors felt inside Uzbekistan, according to the Republican Centre for Seismic Prognostic Monitoring under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan.
Seismologists registered the event on 15 July 2026 at 11:16 AM local time. According to seismic data, the earthquake's epicenter was located in the Batken Region of Kyrgyzstan at coordinates 39.89 degrees north latitude and 71.78 degrees east longitude. The source of the earthquake was recorded at a depth of 5 kilometers.
Within Uzbekistan, the underground tremors were felt most notably in the Fergana district of the Fergana Region, where their intensity measured 2 to 3 on the MSK-64 seismic scale. The epicenter was situated approximately 265 kilometers southeast of Tashkent.
This marks the second minor seismic event from Kyrgyzstan felt in neighboring Uzbekistan within a 24-hour period, following a magnitude 3.6 tremor near Osh late on 14 July 2026 that also registered faintly in the Fergana Region. No damage or casualties have been reported.
