World Bank to Expand Education Support in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Uzbekistan between Ilkhom Sirajiev, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, and Rita Almeida, Head of Education for Europe and Central Asia at the World Bank.
The discussions focused on the current status of joint projects implemented with World Bank participation, as well as future areas of cooperation in education and science.
A key topic of the talks was the mobilization of international financial resources to support educational initiatives in Uzbekistan, including ongoing reforms aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of education.
Rita Almeida positively assessed the results of projects already implemented in the country and confirmed the World Bank’s readiness to continue supporting reforms in the education sector.
Following the meeting, both sides identified responsible institutions and officials for advancing new initiatives and agreed to accelerate the implementation of previously coordinated projects aimed at strengthening Uzbekistan’s education system and expanding human capital development.
