Vice Minister of Health detained in Kazakhstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Minister of Health of Kazakhstan Olzhas Abishev was detained on suspicion of embezzling budget funds. This was announced by the Financial Monitoring Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic on Sunday, 2 August.

According to RIA Novosti, the committee confirmed the detention of Abishev by employees of the Economic Investigation Service. Investigative measures are currently underway. Other data has not yet been reported.

Olzhas Abishev was appointed Vice Minister of Health of Kazakhstan in 2018. He was in charge of digitalization and information security issues.
