UzNIF Reports 417 Billion Soums Loss in First Quarter
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s National Investment Fund (UzNIF) completed the first quarter of 2026 with a net loss of 417.4 billion soums under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
According to the published data, the fund’s operating loss for the reporting period exceeded 520 billion soums. The financial result was mainly affected by a negative revaluation of the investment portfolio.
Net unrealized profit from equity investments measured at fair value through profit or loss amounted to negative 520.7 billion soums. This reflects a decline in the value of assets within the fund’s portfolio, while the assets themselves were not sold.
UzNIF’s total assets at the end of the reporting period amounted to 29.4 trillion soums, representing a year-on-year decrease of 2.9%. The fund’s equity stood at 29.2 trillion soums, down 2.2% compared to the previous year.
Retained earnings declined to 985.7 billion soums, falling 29.7% year-on-year. No gross dividend income was recorded during the reporting period.
It was noted that dividend payments from companies included in the fund’s portfolio are expected in the second and third quarters of 2026, which may be reflected in subsequent financial reporting.
