Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The National Investment Fund of Uzbekistan (UzNIF) recorded nearly 2.1 trillion soums in net profit under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for the first half of 2026. A year earlier, this figure stood at 52.6 billion soums.

The primary driver behind the financial growth was net unrealized gains from investments in equities measured at fair value through profit or loss. During the reporting period, these gains reached 2.2 trillion soums, reflecting changes in the market value of securities held in the fund's portfolio.

Gross dividend income increased from 55.4 billion to 341 billion soums, while operating profit grew from 55.4 billion to 2.5 trillion soums.

As of the end of the first half of the year, the fund's total assets reached 32.5 trillion soums, up 7.2 percent compared to the beginning of the year. Equity increased by 6.1 percent to 31.7 trillion soums, and retained earnings grew by 146.6 percent to 3.5 trillion soums.

According to the published financial statements, the growth in indicators was mainly driven by an increase in the valuation of one of the fund's key assets — Uzbektelecom shares, which rose by 150 percent in the second quarter. Additionally, the fund's Net Asset Value (NAV) increased by 9.2 percent over the reporting period.
