Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan imported US$1.044 billion worth of oil and petroleum products in January-August 2026, up 15.7% from US$902.5 million in the same period last year, according to the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.

Gasoline recorded the largest increase in value among the main imported petroleum products. Imports rose 48.6%, from US$294.3 million to US$437.4 million, while the physical volume increased 41.2%, from 511.0 million liters to 721.5 million liters.

Imports of liquefied petroleum gas (propane) increased sharply. In value terms, they rose 248.0%, from US$35.7 million to US$124.3 million, while the volume increased 138.9%, from 87.7 thousand tons to 209.6 thousand tons.

Imports of other liquid fuels rose 113.6% in value terms, from US$23.7 million to US$50.5 million. The physical volume increased 141.1%, from 37.0 thousand tons to 89.3 thousand tons.

Imports of lubricants, including motor and transmission oils and other lubricating materials, increased 16.4% in value terms, from US$114.8 million to US$133.7 million. The volume rose 15.9%, from 65.2 thousand tons to 75.6 thousand tons.

At the same time, imports of several other types of fuel declined.

Diesel fuel imports fell 12.3% in value terms, from US$204.7 million to US$179.5 million, while the physical volume declined 19.7%, from 258.5 thousand tons to 207.5 thousand tons.

Imports of other light distillates decreased 16.2%, from US$81.5 million to US$68.3 million, while the volume fell 19.6%, from 140.9 thousand tons to 113.3 thousand tons.

Kerosene imports declined 15.3% in value terms, from US$52.9 million to US$44.8 million. The physical volume decreased 25.4%, from 53.9 thousand tons to 40.2 thousand tons.

The sharpest decline was recorded in fuel oil imports. Their value fell 94.2%, from US$94.8 million to US$5.5 million, while the volume dropped 92.0%, from 236.6 thousand tons to 19.0 thousand tons.

Imports of other petroleum products, which were not recorded in 2025, amounted to 21 kilograms worth US$0.9 thousand in 2026.
