Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s GDP could exceed USx130 billion by the end of 2025, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced.

On 27 August, a ceremony was held to honor representatives from various sectors in celebration of the country’s 34th Independence Day, attended by President Mirziyoyev.

The head of state highlighted the successes of reforms aimed at creating a “New Uzbekistan” and noted that the country’s GDP currently stands at US$115 billion, reflecting steady growth.

According to the International Monetary Fund’s projections, Uzbekistan’s GDP could reach US$130 billion by year-end, marking a significant achievement on the international stage.

These results have been made possible by the development of the construction sector, the transition to a green and innovative economy, support for entrepreneurship, and growth in information technology, tourism, and financial services.

In 2024, the volume of construction work reached US$21 billion, with construction materials production totaling US$6 billion. Investments of US$130 billion were attracted, over 100,000 new projects were implemented, 60 trillion soums were allocated to the improvement of neighborhoods, villages, and roads, and more than 7 million citizens were provided with sources of income.

The president also highlighted the services sector, noting that tourism service exports exceeded US$3 billion compared to less than US$500 million previously. “Seven or eight years ago, few believed it was possible to export IT products worth a billion dollars. The main achievement is that new knowledge and modern technologies have entered all sectors,” emphasized Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
