Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Turkish investors have acquired more than 30 state assets in Uzbekistan in recent years, with a combined value of about US$350 million, while Türkiye's total investment in the country's economy has reached nearly US$10 billion.

The figures were presented on 19 October by Sahibjon Murodov, director of Uzbekistan's State Assets Management Agency (SAMA), at the international business event SamAuto Supplier Day in Samarkand, the agency's press service said.

The event focused on developing industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye and brought together more than 150 representatives of government bodies, industrial enterprises and business communities from the two countries.

Murodov described Turkish investors as long-term strategic partners for Uzbekistan.

He said privatisation was not limited to transferring state-owned assets to private owners but also involved attracting investment, modernising enterprises, introducing advanced technologies and creating jobs.

The privatisation of SamAuto was a particular focus of the meeting. In 2025, Turkish company Anadolu Isuzu acquired a 75.2% stake in the enterprise.

According to the State Assets Management Agency, the deal created additional opportunities to develop production, increase localisation and expand the company's export potential.

The agency called on Turkish investors to participate more actively in Uzbekistan's privatisation processes and take advantage of opportunities to launch new investment projects in the country.
