Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov visited the IT Park complex in Ferghana as part of the third meeting of the Regional Councils of Uzbekistan and Russia.

He was accompanied by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev and Ferghana Region Governor Khairullo Bozorov.

The visitors were presented with IT Park’s capabilities and projects being implemented in the region to develop information technologies and the digital economy.

The complex was built on the instructions of the President of Uzbekistan. The project cost more than 150 billion soums.

Up to 200 users can work at the facility simultaneously, while more than 3,000 young people can receive training in modern IT professions there each year.

IT Park has coworking spaces for freelancers and programmers, as well as equipped offices for resident companies.

The combination of educational, production and service capabilities is aimed at providing young people with practical skills, employment opportunities and sources of income.

During the visit, the guests were presented with the activities of UZINFOCOM, the unified integrator responsible for introducing digital technologies and developing information systems and electronic services.

The visitors also familiarised themselves with the work of the iOS Development Center, established in cooperation with Apple. The centre provides young specialists with training in mobile application development and modern software products.

The activities of Megagroup, a company engaged in software development and exports, including to the Russian market, were also presented.

The participants were also briefed on the educational programmes of IT Park University, which focus on practical training of specialists in line with labour market requirements.

In addition, the work of the MUHANDISONA team, led by Jakhongirmirzo Ibrokhimov, was demonstrated. The team specialises in 3D modelling and manufacturing products using 3D printers. The team’s Engineericly YouTube channel has more than 770,000 subscribers.

During the visit to IT Park, the participants also discussed prospects for further developing Ferghana Region’s IT sector, increasing exports of digital services and software products, training young specialists and expanding cooperation with Russian IT companies.
