Uzbekistan, World Bank Discuss Expanded IDA Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 15 April, on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, a meeting was held between Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov and the World Bank Vice President for Development Finance Akihiko Nishio.
During the meeting, the sides discussed further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Special attention was given to elevating cooperation with the International Development Association (IDA) to a new level, implementing projects aimed at ensuring sustainable economic growth, and advancing initiatives supporting the long-term development of Uzbekistan’s economy.
The parties also exchanged views on strengthening macroeconomic indicators, ensuring sustainable development, and enhancing mechanisms of cooperation with international financial institutions.
At the conclusion of the talks, an agreement was reached to further strengthen cooperation, develop continuous dialogue, and expand support for economic reforms.
