Uzbekistan Wins Two Taekwondo World Golds

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s athletes secured two gold medals on the final day of the World Taekwondo WT Youth Championships held at the Olympic City complex in Tashkent.

In the girls’ -63 kg final, Uzbek athlete Mohidil Uktamjonova defeated Italy’s Sofia Frassica to claim the world title.

Another gold medal was earned by Asadbek Samandarov, who competed in the -51 kg category. In the decisive bout, he overcame Tunisia’s Malek Mokra to become world champion.

The victories marked a successful conclusion for the host nation at the championship, underlining the growing strength of Uzbekistan’s youth taekwondo program.
