Uzbekistan wins six medals at Asian Judo Championship

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan national team claimed six medals at the Asian Judo Championship, which was held in Kuwait this year.

Abdulla Tangriev became the Asian Champion in the weight category of over 100 kg. In the final bout, he defeated Yuriy Krakovetsky of Kyrgyzstan.

Sharofiddin Baltbaev (-73kg) and Gulnoza Matniyazova (-70 kg) lost their final matches and won the silver medals of the tournament.

Sharofiddin Lutfillaev (-60 kg) and Sherali Juraev clinched the bronze medals of the Asian Judo Championship.

Uzbekistan was fifth in general medals classification after Japan (6 – 3 – 5 medals), South Korea (3 – 3 – 4), Mongolia (3 – 3 – 4) and China (2 – 0 – 3).

In the team competitions of the Asian Judo Championship, Uzbekistan won a silver medal, losing to Japan in the final bout.

Sharofiddin Lutfillaev, Rishod Sobirov, Yahyo Imamov, Boltaboy Boltaboev, Sherali Juraev and Abdullae Tangriev represented Uzbekistan in team competitions.
