Uzbekistan, UNICEF Discuss National Education Assessment System
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Majit Karimov, director of Uzbekistan’s Knowledge and Qualifications Assessment Agency, held a meeting with Alberto Biancoli, head of the Education Section at UNICEF’s Representative Office in Uzbekistan.
The sides discussed the development of the national education quality assessment system and prospects for further cooperation. The meeting was reported by the Knowledge and Qualifications Assessment Agency.
The talks covered efforts to improve education quality assessment in line with international standards, introduce a unified state examination for graduates of general education schools, and develop and conduct an international audit of the national certification system for general education subjects and foreign languages.
The participants also exchanged views on priority areas of cooperation, including professional development for assessment specialists, engagement of international experts, improvement of assessment tools, and further strengthening the reliability, objectivity and transparency of the national assessment system.
The sides stressed the importance of continued cooperation, incorporating international experience into the national assessment system and implementing joint projects aimed at improving the quality of education.
