Uzbekistan U-17 beats Yemen in friendly match
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s U-17 national football team, led by Sergey Chigodaev, played a friendly match against Yemen’s national team as part of preparations for the AFC Asian Cup. The match ended with a 2–1 victory for the Uzbek side.
The game was held behind closed doors. For Uzbekistan, Jahongirmirzo Uktamboev scored in the 12th minute, while Akhror Ravshanbekov added a second goal in the 78th minute. Yemen’s only goal came in the 85th minute from a penalty kick.
During the match, the coaching staff gave playing time to all squad members to assess their physical condition and performance levels ahead of the official tournament.
The Uzbekistan U-17 team continues its preparation for the AFC Asian Cup. The team will play its opening match on May 10 against India.
